Description
Exploration of ways in which young children, including young children who are learning English as a second language, and young children with special needs, develop aesthetic appreciation of and experiences in the arts in family, neighborhood, early care, and school settings. Documentation and assessment of children's artistic development and expressions of ideas through art using multiple artistic modalities. Integration of appropriate technology tools consistent with National and State Standards and the needs of children with disabilities. Visits to early childhood settings with diverse populations and development of an academic portfolio. 10 hours of fieldwork required. PREREQ: Admission to a Minor to Master's track in Early Childhood Education or Early Childhood Education with a Bilingual Extension
