Basic principles of genetics and modern developments in the field, with their theoretical and practical implications: the inheritance, structure, and mode of action of the genetic material in microorganisms, plants and animals, including man. Laboratory work consists of preparation and examination of chromosome material and experiments with segregating characters in a variety of organisms.Prerequisite: BIO 166 and BIO 167.
