Academic Advisement Services


Welcome to Advisement at Lehman College! Lehman offers a variety of advisement services aimed at supporting students as they progress toward the completion of their degree. Please visit the appropriate advising department website below to find out more information, including contact information for your advisor(s).

Onboarding Advisement Office – The Onboarding Advisement Office provides personalized support to entering, returning, and non-degree undergraduate students preparing to begin their first semester at Lehman. Onboarding Academic Advisors offer academic advisement for first-semester registration and connect students to campus resources to support a successful transition into the Lehman community.

Office of Undergraduate Academic Advisement – General Academic Advisors guide and support continuing students as they progress through their first semester toward the successful completion of their degrees.

Graduation Specialist Unit – Graduation Specialists provide advisement and support during the final year of degree completion.

Major and Minor Advising - Major and Minor Advisors offer guidance to students pursuing completion of programs within their discipline. To connect with a major or minor advisor, visit our Student Services page and scroll to the appropriate department. A Navigate icon under the department name indicates that advisors in the department can be booked by visiting Lehman Navigate.

Pre-Graduate School Advising – Pre-Graduate School Advising at Lehman College offers a range of services such as assistance with writing personal statement, how to get strong letters of recommendation, how to build a competitive record and how to find and apply to graduate school programs.

Pre-Health Advising – Pre-Health Advisors provide information, advising, coaching, and support for students who are interested in applying to and entering accredited health professional programs.

Pre-Nursing Advising – Pre-Nursing advisors provide information and advisement on Nursing prerequisite courses and assist students in preparing their applications to the Nursing program.

Advising in Specialized Programs

Adult Degree Program (ADP) – The Adult Degree Program (ADP) at Lehman College supports adults aged 24 and older who are pursuing their first bachelor’s degree. As Lehman College students, those in ADP can pursue any major, including our own Bachelor of Liberal and Interdisciplinary Studies (BLIS). We provide additional benefits such as personalized academic advising, flexible scheduling, credit for prior learning, and extended office hours to accommodate busy lives. ADP fosters an empowering environment where adult students can thrive and achieve their goals.

Lehman College ASAP Program (ASAP) – The ASAP Program at Lehman College is a comprehensive program designed to help students complete their academic journey to the bachelor’s degree within two years (transfer) or four years (freshmen).

The Percy Ellis Sutton SEEK Program (SEEK) – The SEEK Program promotes the academic, personal, and career development of SEEK students at Lehman College by admitting a historically underrepresented population and providing an array of specialized support and enrichment programs and activities dedicated to encouraging student’s learning, performance, persistence and graduation.

Macaulay Honors College (MHC) and The Lehman Scholars Program (LSP) – The William E. Macaulay Honors College at Lehman chooses students from a highly competitive field of applicants who demonstrate exceptional academic skills and are then challenged to continue their record of achievement and to prepare for top graduate programs as well as leadership positions in both their professions and their communities.
