The Adult Degree Program (ADP)

The Adult Degree Program (ADP)

The Adult Degree Program (ADP) is designed for incoming Lehman students who are 24 years of age and older. ADP provides academic and student services designed especially to support returning adult students.

Both freshman and transfer students may apply for admission to Lehman College directly through the Adult Degree Program. Eligibility is determined via a holistic application process that includes consideration of prior academic history, length of time out of school, work history, and a written essay. Students who apply to Lehman College through main admissions and are denied, may reapply to Lehman through ADP. Likewise, accepted Lehman students and those who are readmitting may also apply for admission to ADP. Currently enrolled students who have completed more than two semesters, as well as those who have already earned a bachelor’s degree, are not eligible for admission to ADP.

Adult Degree Program students must complete all Lehman General Education requirements and meet the minimum overall and major grade point average (GPA) required for graduation by the College. ADP students have some flexibility with the College Option that allows students additional choices to fulfill those requirements. ADP students may choose any major the College offers or create their own through the program’s Bachelor of Liberal and Interdisciplinary Studies (BLIS).
