Effective communication and writing for students at all academic levels who are applying for scholarships, fellowships, other prestigious awards, or graduate programs. Focus on rhetorical strategies for persuasion in professional communication pieces, essays, documents, interviews, and presentations. Students prepare shorter writings, as well as substantial personal essays that incorporate data analysis and support for their conclusions and recommendations.NOTE: Non-majors/minors who wish to take this course should see an English advisor for permission.PREREQ: Declared English Major/Minor or declared Professional Communications Minor
