French and Francophone drama from the early 20th century to today including the plays from the Surrealist period, the Theater of the Absurd, the post-war period, postcolonial theater, and contemporary French drama. While focusing primarily on critical reading and writing, the course will also provide an understanding of seminal concepts of theater as performance and live art.PREREQ: FRE 300
